Returning home to Trinidad, Althea was inspired to create Malvaceae Hibiscus a large-scale furnishing design with pops of color and bold stripes. Originally created for Liberty in 1958, the floral pattern has been translated into a fashion print for this collection.

This collection celebrates the designs of Althea McNish, showcasing the Trinidadian designers unique eye for graphic, multi-layered prints in vividly tropical-infused shades. Hailing from Port of Spain in Trinidad and Tobago, she moved to England in the 1950s and subsequently revolutionizedthe world of post-war British textile design with her bold and beautiful prints starting with her very first collection, created as a freelance commission for Liberty Fabrics in 1958. Recreated from Altheas designs in the Liberty Archive the collection exhibits her vibrant florals and textural patterns in exciting new colorways.
